5、ntenceintobasicunits(spoken-beusefulforcontextinterpretation.adaptedchunks).Thesecondone,aLinkGrammarparser,looksItwasdemonstratedthatparsingnaturallanguagecanbeforinter-chunksdependenciesinordertobuildarichrepresen-handledbyincrementalapproachesbasedforinstanceont

6、hetationofthesemanticstructureoftheutterance.Thesedepen-principleofÒchunkingÓtheinputintosmallandeasilymanage-denciesaremainlyinvestigatedatapragmaticlevelthroughtheableunits[6].ROMUS,thespeechunderstandingsystemweconsiderationofataskconcepthierarchy.Discussionabou

7、tthepresentinthispaper,appliesandsensiblyadaptstheseideastoapproachadopted,itsbeneÞtsandlimitations,isbasedonthespontaneousspokendialogue.ROMUSachievesspeechunder-resultsofthesystemÕsassessmentcarriedoutunderdifferentstandinginatwostageprocess.TheÞrststagesegmentst
