4、eslabtostopspatialfrequencieswithinabandwidthtunablebychangingtheinfraredradiationintensity.Wenumericallyprovethedevicefunctionalitybyresortingtofullwavesimulationcoupledtothedynamicsofchargecarriesphotoexcitedbyinfraredradiationinsemiconductorlayers.Manipulatingterahertz(THz

5、)radiationisgenerallyadifficulttasksincethemostofstandardmaterialssimplydonotrespondtosuchfrequencies.However,theadventofmetamaterialshasallowedtopartiallyreducethisdif-ficultysincetheirelectromagneticpropertiescanbearti-ficiallymanipulated1throughasuitabledesignoftheun-derlyingc
