2、ofthetargetlanguagecouldbeexplored,andacertaindegreeofre-writingofthelanguageinthedialoguecouldbeacceptable,sothatstrategiesshouldbeappliedtoachievetheeffectthatthetranslatedversionsoundsnatural,educationalandentertainingtothetargetlanguageaudience.Thispaperexaminessomeaspectsofthisspecialfieldoftr
3、anslation,includingideologyissues,domesticcultureawarenessandthetranslator'sactivechoiceofcreativelanguageintheirtranslation,tosuggestthatapproachessuchasdomestication,or“excessivedomestication”astheauthorofthispaperdefines,andculturaladaptationprovidewaysinwhichtranslatorsimplementtheircreativityw

6、ng.Eveninthesubtitlingcountries,animatedprogrammesaimingatyoungchildrenaredubbed(Gottlieb2004:83).Itisself-evidentthatoneofthemajorreasonswhybothdubbingcountriesandsubtitlingcountrieschoosetodubthetranslatedcartoonsratherthansubtitlethemisthatchildren,themostlikelytargetaudienceofcartoons,ingeneral
