3、r2005Availableonline18January2006AbstractThreecultureswereenrichedfromcorkboilingwastewaterusingtannicacidastheselectivecarbonsubstrate,at25°CandpH7.2,25°CandpH4.7and50°CandpH4.7.TheenrichmentcultureobtainedatneutralpHwascomposedoffiveculturableisolates,whereasfromeachacidi
4、cenrichmenttwobacterialstrainswereisolated.MesophilicisolateswereGramnegativebacteriabelongingtothegeneraKlebsiella,Pseudomonas,StenotrophomonasandBurkholderia.ThermophilicisolatesweremembersofthegenusBacillus.Despitethecapabilityoftheenrichmentculturestousetannicacidassin
5、glecarbonandenergysource,thosecultureswereunabletoreducethetotalpolyphenolsorthetotalorganiccarboncontentofcorkboilingwastewater.Inordertoincreasethebioavailabilityoftheorganiccarbonincorkboilingwastewater,biodegradationwasprecededbyFentonoxidation.Itwasdemonstratedthatthe
