6、ill;cross-culturalcommunication摘要委婉语是一种语言的特殊技能和文化现象，它被使用于世界各语言之中。我们和他人或者其他国家交流时使用委婉语，会使得对话优雅、含蓄、委婉。随着全球一体化的进程加剧，在跨文化交际中，能够正确的使用委婉语是十分必要的。本文运用了归纳总结法、对比法、文献研究法等方法去研究委婉语，我们能看到英汉在语言和文化上的相似之处和在宗教、思维方式、价值观的不同之处。通过对英汉委婉语的对比研究，有利于提高这一领域翻译作品的质量，促进外语教学，并进一步推动跨文化交
