3、.,Rutaceae),decreasesthebodyweightofratsthroughapoorlydefinedmechanism.Thehypothalamusisresponsibleforcontrollingfoodintakeandenergyexpenditure.WepostulatethatEvomediatesthisactivitybymodulatingfeeding-relatedpeptidesinthehypothalamus.Weinvestigatedthee
4、ffectsofEvoonfoodintake,bodyweightandthemRNAexpressionofhypothalamicNPY,AGRP,Pmch,POMC,CART,andMC4R,inmalerats.Evo(40mg/kgor4mg/kg)wasintragastricallyadministratedfor25days,andthefoodintakeandbodyweightofratswererecordeddaily.Bloodsampleswerecollectedfo
5、rleptinradioimmunoassay(RIA).Real-TimePCRwasusedtoanalyzethemRNAexpression.OurresultsshowthatintragastricadministrationofEvo(40mg/kg)inhibitsfoodintake,decreasesbodyweightandreducesthemRNAexpressionofNPYandAGRPinthehypothalamus,whileitincreasesthecircul
