4、veoffamousAmericanhumorist，MarkTwain．Formorethanonecentury,thisnovelhasbeenlistedinthecanonofgreatnovels．Worksandarticlesofcriticismonthisnovelhavebeennumerous；yetmostofthecritics’preoccupationisonthehumorphenomenon．Afewofthemareonthehumortranslation．Therefore，thisthesisfocusesonthe

5、humortranslationofthisbookfromtheperspectiveofFunctionalEquivalenceTheory．ThethesisfirststudiesthehumorinthesourcetextwiththeclassificationofhumorbyJ．R．Schmitz，namely,universalhumor,culturalhumor,linguistichumor．Andhumoreffectsinthesourcetextwereillustratedindetails．Then，thethesisat
