3、nreachedforthistopic.Theoreticalstudiestendtoarguethatstrictenvironmentalregulationwoulddecreaseinternationaltradeandweakenthecompetitiveness.However,empiricalstudiesfailtoapprovethisassumption,whilesomeofthemevencomeupwithcontraryresult.Fordevelopingcountries,thisisanimportantissuethatcal
4、lsforspecialattention.Ifenvironmentalregulationhasnegligibleimpactoninternationaltrade,orcanaccelerateeconomicdevelopmentinthelongterm,developingcountriesshouldpositivelygrasptheopportunityandchallengebyworkingoutcomprehensivesetsofenvironmentalregulationswhichcanfacilitateenvironmentalpro
5、tection,aswellaseconomicdevelopment.Inthisway,wecanestablishagreenglobaltradingenvironment,whichwouldbeofgreathelptothesustainabledevelopmentofhumankind.Mostoftheexistingresearchesonthetopicofenvironmentalregulationandinternationalcompetitivenessareaboutthedevelopedcountries,especiallytheU
6、nitedStatesofAmerica.Fewofthemstudythesituationofdevelopingcountries.Meanwhile,inmostcases,empiricalstudiesaredonebyusingcross-sectorornation-widestatistics,whicharenotapplicablefordetailedanalysisonindustriallevel.Basedontheliteraturesummaryandtheoreticalanalysis,empiricalstudyonthepartic
