4、iclelicenseplate，whichemploysHSVcolormodelandfocuses011matchingbackgroundcolorandcharactercolorofvehiclelicenseplatetosegmentthecarimagewithasimpleandeffectivealgorithm．Aimedatthesegmentedimage,thebackgroundandcharacterofvehiclelicenseplatehavethecharacteristico

5、fconsecutivegreybeepsinhorizontaldirection．WeCallUSelinescanningtodeterminethetopandthebottomboundaryofvehiclelicenseplate．Aimedatthecarimagewiththetopandthebottomboundarysegmented，thevehiclelicenseplatehaveprojectioncharacteristicinverticaldirection．WecanUSedif

6、ferentiateaciagraphytodeterminetheleftandtherightboundaryofvehiclelicenseplate．Finally,bycalculatingtheHVRtojudgewhethertheareaisthetruevehiclelicenseplate．Thealgorithmemployssyntheticcharacteristicstolocatelicenseplate，whichovercomesthedefectsandlimitationsinsi
