3、ctionhasgotmoreandmoreattentionfrompeopleindifferentkindsoffield．Ingeneral，theprotectingofbuildingsisnotincludedinthedesignwhenstart。ingasubwayproject，anditdependsmainlyonthecontrolofgroundsurfacesettle-mentunderconstruction．InChina，itcanoftenbeabletosetalimitedsettlementforprotectingbuildings．and

4、thenumberisalwaysbetween-30mmto+10mm．IfthelimitWasexceeded，theadjustingoftheorderofexcavationorthecorrectionofini·tialplancouldbedone．Thisprocessing，however,ignoresspecifictypeofbuildingsandcorrespondingresponsetothetunnelexcavationforthebuildings，thenthosestrengtheningmeasuressometimesseemtobever

5、yconservative．ThelineofChengDumetroprojectpassesaspecificstratumofgravellayer,theshieldtunnelingconstructionfacesaverydifficultsituation，andthere’SnoknownexperienceinChina．Inordertoclearlyunderstandthetunnelinginduceddamageandthetunneling—adjacentstructuresinteractioningravellayer,thispapercollect
