2、ffectsonvehiclebehaviour.TheSWIFTtyremodelhasbeendesignedtocoverin-plane,out-of-planeandcombinedhigherorderdynamictyreperformance.ItcanberegardedasanextensionoftheMagicFormulapragmatictyremodel,uptoarangeofatleastabout70Hz:ThispaperdescribestheapplicationoftheSWIFTtyremod
3、eltofullvehicleABSbraking.First,themodelisusedtoderivethesingletyreresponsetoroadundulationsandbraketorquestepinput,bothbeingverymuchofrelevancetoABSbraking.Thisincludesasurveyofthesensitivityofthedynamictyreparametersregardingthefirst,rigidbelt,eigenfrequenciesandtherelat
4、ivedamping.Next,theresponseofaquartervehicletosimilarinputisdiscussedwithspecificemphasisontheaddedvalueofthedynamiccharacteristicsoftheSWIFTmodelincomparisontosteadystateandtransienttyremodels.Finally,fullvehicleABScontrolledbrakingonanevenroadisconsideredforvariousroadfr
5、ictionvaluesandvehiclespeed.1.IntroductionOneaspectofvehiclesafetyisbrakingasfastaspossiblewhilemaintainingstabilityandsteerability.TheautomotivecomponenttoachievethisistheABSsystem,firstintroducedin1978.ABSbrakinginitiatestyrebeltoscillationsand,withthisinmind,atyremodelS
6、WIFTwasdevelopedthatisgearedtotheanalysisoftyreoscillationsanditseffectsonvehiclebehaviour.Itprovidesforvarioussidewallstiffnesses,adescriptionofthestiffnessofthetyreinlow-velocityconditions,andadescriptionoftheslipbehaviourinthecontactarea.TheSWIFTtyremodelhasbeendesigne
