2、dayofclass. Iwillwriteontheboard"MATHISFUN." MOTIVATIONIwillbeplayingBeethoven’s5thatthebeginningofclassonTuesday. Then,Iwillleadtheclassinadiscussiononmathematicsandmusic,referringbacktotheassignedreadings. Iwillcontinueonintootherareasofartandmathematics,discussingthesim

3、ilaritiesaswellasthemathematicsembeddedinvaryingartforms,anddisplayingpicturesofartworkontheoverhead. OnThursday,Iwillbeginclasswiththelightsoffforaslideshowwithpopcornandsoda(Iwillprovide.) STIMULATINGRECALLOFPRIORLEARNINGOnTuesday,Iwillhaveabrainstormingsessionwiththecla

4、ssaboutdifferentmathematicsinart,drawingontheirpastexperiences. Iwillwritedownallinputontheboard.(Forexample: perspective,geometricshapes,patterns,etc.)  Iwillstressthattheyhavelivedwithmathematicsaroundthemintheireverydayworld. INFORMATIONANDEXAMPLESIwilldiscussandshowexa

5、mplesofmathematicsindifferentartforms. Theseexampleswillbepresentedbycategory:music,paintings,sculptures,etc.  Iwillpointoutmathematicalconceptsinoneortwoexamplesineachcategoryanddiscusstheculturalcontextandvalueofthedisciplineofmathematics. PRACTICEANDFEEDBACKForeachcateg

6、ory,afterI’vepointedoutmathematicalconceptsintheexamples,I’llaskthemtogetintogroupsanddothisontheirown. Iwillaskeachgroupwhattheycameupwithandhavethemsharetheirideaswiththeentireclass. Duringtheslideshow,Iwillhavethestudentsdescribethemathematicalconceptstheyfindintheindiv
