2、.Oneofthedocumentsaddedtoabookfileisthestylesource.Bydefault,thestylesourceisthefirstdocumentinthebook,butyoucanselectanewstylesourceatanytime.Whenyousynchronizedocumentsinabook,theitemsyouspecify-styles,variables,masterpages,trappresets,cross-referenceforma
3、ts,conditionstextsettings,numberedlists,andswatches-arecopiedfromthestylesourcetothespecifieddocumentsinthebook,replacinganyitemsthathaveidenticalnames.Ifitemsinthestylesourcearenotfoundinthedocumentsbeingsynchronized,theyareadded.Itemsthatarenotincludedinth
4、estylesourceareleftasisinthedocumentsbeingsynchronized.NOTE:ForBestResults,createstyleswithuniquenames.Synchronizingmasterpages:Masterpagesaresynchronizedinthesamewayasotheritems-masterpageswiththesamename(suchasA-Master)asthoseinthestylesourcearereplaced(su
5、chasrunningheadersandfooters).Howere,ifyouwanttopreservepageitemsonamasterpageindocumentsotherthanthestylesource,eitherdon’tsynchronizingmasterpagesorcreatemasterpageswithdifferentnames.It’salsoagoodideatosynchronizemasterpagesusingonlystylesource.Ifyousynch
6、ronizefromadifferentstylesource,overriddenmasterpageitemsmaybecomedetachedfromthemasterpage.Ifyouneedtosynchorinzeusingadifferentstylesource,deselecttheMasterPagesoptionintheSynchronizeOptionsdialogboxbeforedoingso.Numberpages,chapters,andparagraphsinabookYo
