3、"buildingourfuture...strengtheningourtradition,"andinstallationofsolarpanelsatoptheseadditionswoulddojustthat.Notonlywouldtheuniversitysavemoneyfromenergysavings,butitwouldalsobecomealeaderinsustainability,mitigateenvironmentalimpacts,andserveasarecruitmenttoolbygeneratinggreatpubli
4、city.Thisreportattemptstoanalyzethefeasibilityofaphotovoltaicsystematopthesenewadditions.Thetoolsusedtocreatethisreportwereenergyanalyses,cost-benefitanalyses,environmentalimpactmitigation,socialbenefitanalysis,andpeerinstitutionreview.Mostimportantly,thepaybackperiodforeachsystemwa
5、sanalyzed.Methodologiesandcalculationscanbefoundintheappendices.Theresultsshowthatasystemofthissizewouldbefeasible,andwouldactuallypayforitselfovertime.Newtechnologyhasallowedsolarpanelstobemadeatamuchlowercostthaninthepastandoperatewithgreaterlevelsofefficiency.Thethreepanelsthatar
6、ebestsuitedforMichiganStadiumaretheSharp224WattModule,theEvergreenSolarES-A-210210WattModule,andSolarWorld's175-WattSunModule.Thesethreehavethebestenergyoutput,energydisplacement,efficiency,andcost-effectiveness.Theirrespectivecapitalinvestmentsnotincludinginstallationare$2,261,466.
