7、触到这些数字图像，人们面临的问题不再是缺少这些数字媒体，而是如何在浩如烟海的多媒体世界中找到自己所需要的图像信息，这就要求有一种能够快速而且准确地查找访问图像的技术，也就是所谓的图像检索技术。自从20世纪70年代以来，在数据库系统和计算机视觉两大研究领域的共同推动下，图像检索技术已逐渐成为一个非常活跃的研究领域。从图像检索的发展历史看，图像检索技术已从最初基于文本的图像检索发展到今日基于内容的图像检索，近年来，基于内容的图像检索的研究逐渐成为研究的热点。而基于文本的图像检索技术和基于内容的图像检索技术分别是从数据库和计
