3、ithexceptionallyhighcrystalandelectronicquality,hasemergedasarapidlyrisingstarinthefieldofmaterialscience.Itssuddendiscoveryin2004ledtoanexplosionofinterestinthestudyofgraphenewithrespecttoitsuniquephysical,chemical,andmechanicalproperties,openingupanewresearchareaform
4、aterialsscienceandcondensed-matterphysics,andaimingforwide-ranginganddiversifiedtechnologicalapplications.Inthiscriticalreview,wewilldescriberecentadvancesinthedevelopmentofgraphene-basedmaterialsfromthestandpointofelectrochemistry.Tobeginwith,electrontransferpropertie
5、sofgraphenewillbediscussed,involvingitsunusualelectronicstructure,extraordinaryelectronicpropertiesandfascinatingelectrontransport.Thenextmajorsectiondealswiththeexcitingprogressrelatedtographene-basedmaterialsinelectrochemistrysince2004,includingelectrochemicalsensin
6、g,electrochemiluminescence,electrocatalysis,electrochemicalenergyconversionandFETdevices.Finally,prospectsandfurtherdevelopmentsinthisexcitingfieldofgraphene-basedmaterialsarealsosuggested(224references).1.Introduction0Dbuckyballs(fullerenes),therolled1Dnanotubesandthe
