5、dynamicdoctor-patientcommunication.Web-basedhealthcare,suchasonlinehealthcarecommunities(OHCs),providenewplatformsforinformationexchangeandonlinecommunicationbetweendoctorsandpatients.Despitesignificantresultsindicatingthebenefittopatientoutcomes,however,empiricalresearch
6、ontheinstrumentalreturnsofOHCsforphysiciansisseverelylacking.Indeed,aplethoraofresearchhasfocusedonthedemandside(thepatientside)oftheequation,whereasthesupplyside(doctorside)hasbeenapproachedmorefromanefficacy,qualityandcostperspective.Suchperspectivesaredevelopedfromafra
7、meworkofwhatcouldultimatelybenefitthepatient,andnotthephysician.Thisstudyseekstofilltheabovementionedresearchgapbyempiricallyevaluatingphysicians‘individualoutcomesinanOHC.Guidedbysocialcapitalandsocialtiestheory,thisstudyevaluatesthesuccessofanOHCforthesupplysideofthedoc
