4、meanaboveminusbelowacut,maximumeigenvalue,andlatentmodewereusedtoinvestigatewhethergenderistaxonicordimensional.Behavioralmeasuresofstereotypedhobbiesandphysiologicalcharacteristics(physicalstrength,anthropometricmeasurements)wereexaminedforvalidationpurposes,andweretaxonicbysex.Psychologicalindicat
5、orsincludedsexualityandmating(sexualattitudesandbehaviors,mateselectivity,sociosexualorientation),interpersonalorientation(empathy,relational-interdependentself-construal),gender-relateddispositions(masculinity,femininity,careorientation,unmitigatedcommunion,fearofsuccess,scienceinclination,BigFivep
6、ersonality),andintimacy(intimacyprototypesandstages,socialprovisions,intimacywithbestfriend).Constructswerewithfewexceptionsdimensional,speakingtoSpence’s(1993)genderidentitytheory.Averagedifferencesbetweenmenandwomenarenotunderdispute,butthedimensionalityofgenderindicatesthatthesedifferencesareinap
