4、andmaliciousroutingactivity,inpassiveobservationsofBGPupdates.Currentlydevelopingtoolsandalgorithmstodetectabnormalnetworkactivity(intrusions,attacks,probes,etc.)basedonaggregatedflow-level(ratherthanpacket)traces.Traditionaltools(e.g.,SNORT)performdeeppack
5、etinspectiontomatchsignatures,whichdoesnotscaletoveryhighdatarates.Co-designedandimplementedBGP-PCA,astatisticalmethodtoinferBGPeventsbasedonpassiveobservationsofBGPupdatescollectedatpublicvantagepoints.WorkedintheMINDSproject(agenda:applyingdataminingcon
6、ceptstodetectingnetworkintrusionsinnetworktraffictraces).ArelatedeffortwastofindwaystotoreducethenumberoffalsealarmsinSNORT,asastomakeitmoreusefultonetworkoperators.DesignedEPIC,anextensiontoBGP,whichsignificantlyimprovestheconvergencetimeafternetworkevents.
7、ProposedanddesignedaframeworkforlocalizedrootcauseanalysisofBGPupdates,basedonAS-specificBGPauditors.InvolvedinproposingtheSOI(ServiceOrientedInternet)framework,whichisaunifyinginfrastructuretoenableeasyandscalabledeploymentofInternetservices.Helpedtodesig
