3、spersecondfromthedigitizinghardwaretoasecondarystoragedevicewithoutcompression.Thisrateiswellbeyondthecapabilitiesofmostaffordablesystemstoday.Wepresentasystemthatcansynchronouslycaptureeveryframe--oranyuser-speci-fiedsubsetofthem--frommultiplecamerasatfullresolutionandstorethemo
4、nareg-ularsecondarystoragedevice.TheoutputsofthecamerasarerecordedontapeusingconventionalVCRs.TheVerticalIntervalTimeCode(VITC)isinsertedontoeachstreambeforerecording.Eachtapeisplayedback,repeatedlyundercomputercontrolifnecessary,off-lineonaneditingVCRtograbtheframesusingacommerc
5、ialdigitizer.TheVITCdataisusedtodirectlyidentifytheframeswhilethetapeisplayedback.Webelievethisisthefirstsystemintheworldthatcancaptureeveryframefrommultiplevideostreamssynchronously,fullyscalableinthenumberofstreamsandthedurationofcapture.Finally,thesystemisinexpensive,costing$5
