4、vatedresearcherstocon-sidermulti-layerandstackeddesigns.Multi-layerplanarcircuitsofferadvantagesthatcannotbeequalledbytraditionalsinglelayerdesigns.Inthisrespect,anewclassofplanarstructures,baseduponamulti-layeredstackofdual-modestriplineormicrostrippatchesisbecomingincreasinglypopular.In

5、thenewstackedde-sign,couplingbetweenplanarcircuitsseparatedbyagroundplaneisaccomplishedthroughcouplingaperturesinthecommongroundplane.Thisthesisisaboutdevelopingannewapproximatemultiportnetworkmodelforfastanalysisofmulti-layeredplanarstructureswithgroundplaneslots.Toextendapplicabilityof

6、multiportnetworkmodel(MNM)totheclassofplanarstructurescontaininggroundplaneslots,ageneralizednetworkformulationforapertureproblemsiscombinedwithtraditionalMNMtoaccountforthepresenceoftheslot.Tothisend,theslotisreplacedbyanunknownequivalentsurfacemagneticcurrent.Slotportsaredefinedintermso
