3、sproblem).Thediversityofviewsexpressedinthecommentatoriesindicatesthattheseare,indeed,realandunresolvedproblems.Thisresponseisstructuredaroundthefollowingkeyquestions.(1)Howlong-termgoalplanninginterfaceswiththeautomaticmachineryofbehaviour?(2)Theextentoftheimpactofthelatenessofcontrolled(includingc
4、onscious)processesforbuildingmodelsofbehaviouralcontrol?(3)HowbesttocharacterisethepersonalitytraitsassociatedwiththeFFFS,BISandBAS?(4)HowdoestheBIScontrolmismatchdetection,thegenerationoferrorsignals,andresponseinhibitionandswitching?(5)Isconsciousnessreallyanecessaryexplanatoryconstructinmodelsofb
5、ehaviouralcontrol?(6)Mightneuralcrosstalkofencapsulatedaction-goalresponsesystemspointtothefunctionalsignifi-canceofconsciousness?(7)Whataretheimplicationsofissuesraisedinthetargetpaperforlexicalandsocial-cognitiveapproachestopersonality?Iconcludebyre-iteratingtheimportanceoftheproblemsoflatenessandi
