3、.43TgB/yr)andcoal,whichadds0.20TgB/yrasananthropogeniccontribution.Theseknowninputstotheatmospherecannotaccountfortheboronremovedfromtheatmosphereduringrainfall(3.0TgB/yr)andestimateddrydeposition(1.3–2.7TgB/yr).Inadditiontoatmosphericdeposition,rockweatheringisasourceofb
4、oron(0.19TgB/yr)forterrestrialecosystems,andhumansmineabout0.31TgB/yrfromtheEarth’scrust.Morethan4.8TgB/yrcirculatesinthebiogeochemicalcycleoflandplants,andabout0.53–0.63TgB/yriscarriedfromlandtoseabyrivers.Thebiogeochemicalcycleofboronintheseaincludes4.4TgB/yrcirculating
5、inthemarinebiosphere,andanannuallossof0.47TgB/yrtotheoceaniccrustviaavarietyofsedimentaryprocessesthatcollectivelyremoveonlyasmallfractionofthetotalannualinputstotheoceans.ThuswithourcurrentunderstandingoftheglobalbiogeochemistryofB,theatmosphericbudgetshowsoutputs>inputs
