3、ilableonline15December2005AbstractLayereddoublehydroxides(LDH)calcinedatdifferenttemperatures(denotedasCLDH)havebeendemonstratedtorecovertheiroriginallayeredstructureinthepresenceofappropriateanions.Inthelightofthisso-calledmemoryeffect,astudyofremovaloffluor
4、idefromaqueoussolutionbycalcinedMgAlCO-LDHhasbeencarriedout.TheLDHcalcinedat500◦Chadthehighestcapacityofremovaloffluorideion,3becauseofretentionofitsintrinsicstructure.TheCLDHwithanMg/Alratioof2hasaremarkableabilitytoadsorbanions.Theadsorptionloadingishigherf
5、orthecalcinedMgAl-LDHthanforcalcinedZnAlandNiAl-LDH.Theinfluenceofvaryingtheconditionsforremovaloffluoride,suchasthepHofaqueoussolution,theinitialfluorideconcentration,thedosageofadsorbent,andtemperatureonremovaloffluoridehavebeeninvestigated.Theinfluenceofco-exi
6、stinganionsinfluorideaqueoussolutionindicatesthatthepercentageofremovaloffluorideincreasedinorderPO3−7、rideionsbytheCLDHmaterialwas98%orhigher.Theresidualfluorideconcentrationwasfoundtobe0.4mg/Lwithaninitialconcentrationof20mg/L,whichmeetsthenationalstandardfordrinkingwaterquality.TheFreundlichisothermandLangmuirisothermwereusedtofitthedataofequilibriumexperime8、nts.TheresultsofX-raydiffraction,FT-IRandTG-MSdemonstratethattheadsorptionphenomenonisaccompaniedbyrehydrationwithconcomitantuptakeoffluorideionstorebuildtheinitiallayeredstructure.©2005ElsevierB
