3、,especiallythoseintheNewTestament.Thisstudyexaminesalloftheoccurrencesofthetermπαράκλητο$,includingpreviouslyoverlookedattestationsinthepapyrologicalandepigraphicalrecord.ItarguesthatthetermisaprecisecaiquefortheLatinlegaltermadvocatus,meaningapersonofhighsocialstandingwhospeaksonbehalfofadefe
