4、chaschlorideandsulphate,inthefeedphaseontheremovalwasinvestigatedbyelectrodialysis.Keywords:ThetransportoffluoridewasalsocorrelatedwiththefluxdataandexplainedaccordingtostructureofFluoridemembrane.Itwasfoundthattheremovaloffluoridewashigherintheabsenceofmono-andbi-va
5、lentDefluoridationions.ThereducingeffectofsulphateionsonthetransportoffluoridewashigherthanthatofchlorideElectrodialysisions,whichwasexplainedbyconsideringinteractionofbothchlorideandsulphateionswiththeionicAnion-exchangemembranegroupinthemembraneandactivitycoefficie
6、ntoffluorideinthepresenceofmono-andbi-valentionset.Moreover,transportoffluorideincreasedwithincreasingcurrentdensityandfeedphaseconcentration.Asthedrivingion,thechlorideionismoreefficientthanthesulfateion.Applicationofelectrodialysiswascarriedoutontherealwatercontain
7、ing20.6mg/Loffluoride.Despitethepresenceofchlorideandsulphateinrealwatersample,fluorideconcentrationcouldbereducedto0.8mg/L(96%removal),whichwaslowerthanWorldHealthOrganization(WHO)standard(1.5mg/L).©2008ElsevierB.V.Allrightsreserved.1.Introductiongreatlyincreasedwh
