3、tanumberoflevels.ThispaperprovidesacomprehensivereviewofhowsatelliteremotesensinghasbeenusedinforestresourceassessmentsincethelaunchofthefirstEarthresourcessatellitesensor(ERTS)in1972.Theuseofremotesensinginforestresourceassessmentprovidesthreelevelsofinformation;namely(1)thespatialextentoffores
4、tcover,whichcanbeusedtoassessthespatialdynamicsofforestcover;(2)foresttypeand(3)biophysicalandbiochemicalpropertiesofforests.Theassessmentofforestinformationovertimeenablesthecomprehensivemonitoringofforestresources.Thispaperprovidesacomprehensivereviewofhowsatelliteremotesensinghasbeenusedtoda
