3、nbothnewsensitivethe~1300-km-wideSouthChinafoldbeltinhigh-resolutionionmicroprobe(SHRIMP)U-Pbzircondataandasynthesisofexistingstructural,theMesozoic(Figs.1Aand2).Earlyworkersgeochronological,andsedimentaryfaciesresults.Thismodelnotonlyexplainsthedevelopmen
4、tofnoticedtheintracontinentalnatureoftheorogenabroad(~1300-km-wide)intracontinentalorogenthatmigratedfromthecoastalregionintotheanditsmigrationinlandfromthecoastalregioncontinentalinteriorbetweenca.250Maand190Ma,butcanalsoaccountforthepuzzlingchainduringth
5、eTriassic(ca.250200Ma)andlinkedofeventsthatfollowed:theformationofashallow-marinebasininthewakeofthemigratingtheorogeniceventwiththeinitiationofanforelandfold-and-thrustbelt,andthedevelopmentofoneoftheworld’slargestBasinandRange–activeplatemarginintheweste
6、rnPacific(Cuistylemagmaticprovincesaftertheorogeny.TheSouthChinarecordmayserveasanexampleofandLi,1983;Fig.1B).AlthoughHsüetal.(e.g.,themultipleeffectsofflat-slabsubduction,includingmigratingorogenesisandforelandflexure,1990)usedcontinentalcollisionswithinthes
7、ynorogenicsaggingbehindtheactiveorogen,postdelaminationlithosphericrebound,andtheSouthChinablocktoexplainthiswideorogendevelopmentofaBasinandRange–stylebroadmagmaticprovince.(Fig.1C),themodelreceivedlittlegeologicalsupport(seeChenetal.,1991,andreferencesKe
