4、d.InthisreportwedefinetheproblemofaddressallocationandmobilitysupportinHybridWirelessMeshNetworks.Wereviewandevaluatethesolutionspresentedintheliteratureandalsoanalyzetheproblemofmobilitydetectionmoreclosely.1IntroductionAddressallocationisnecessarytoe
5、nablepacketexchangebetweennetworksnodes.TraditionalwiredIPnetworkshavehierarchicaladdressspace,whereanaddressnotonlyidentifiesanodeinthenetwork,butalsoenableslocationofanodeinthehierarchicaltopology.Thepurposeofaddressallocationschemesinhierarchicalwir
6、ednetworksistoassigneverynodeauniqueandtopologicallycorrectidentifier.IncontrasttofixedwiredIPnetworks,WirelessMeshNetworks(WMNs)areself-configuringnetworksconsistingofmobilenodesinterconnectedbywirelesslinks.WMNsbynaturehaveflatandchangingtopology,sin
7、cemobilenodesarefreetomove.Instand-aloneWMNswithflataddressspace,addressonlyidentifiesanodewithinthenetwork.Furthermore,sincenodesinWMNaremobile,mobilityshouldbesupported.Thus,thepurposeofaddressallocationschemesistoassigneverynodeauniqueidentifierwith
8、inaWMNdisregardingtopologicalcorrectness,butmobilityshouldbeconsidered.TheproblemofaddressingandmobilitysupportariseswhenaWMNwithflataddressesconnectstotheInternet.Inthiscase,mobilityshouldbesupportedanditisdesirabletokeepthesameaddress
