3、potential,thewebisevolvingfasttowardanintelligentwebsystems.Ideallytheintelligentwebsystemswillbeacombinationofasemanticwebandvariouswebserviceswherethecomputerscanautomaticallyprocessthewebcontentsandintegratetheirservices.Thispaperreportswhichwebtechnologiesandprotocolssucceededi

4、nrealizingthecurrentwebandspeculatewhatisgoingtobethepossiblefuturewebarchitectureanditssocialimpact.1.TheSuccessStoryoftheWebIn1989TimBarners-Lee[1]inventedtheWorldWideWeborWWWorW3,aninternet-basedhypertexttransferprotocol(HTTP)forglobalinformationsharing.Hypertextmarkuplanguage(H

5、TML)wasdevelopedfordisplayingthewebpagesonabrowserlikeNetscapeorInternetExplorerrunningonauser’scomputer.Domainnameservice(DNS)anduniversalresourcelocator(URL)namingconventionsweredevelopedtodiscoveramachineontheinternetwhichhostsawebpage.Sincetheinceptionoftheweb,theexplosivegrowt

6、hofthenumberofwebsitesandthenumberofwebusersisanindicationofitspopularityamongststudents,researchers,businessesandshoppersalike.Webisthemostefficientmediumforinformationcollectionanddisseminationinthefastest-12-andcheapestpossibleway.Webhaschangedoureverydaylives,ithaschangedtheway
