4、an2003).Weshowinthispaperthatthenature®ndingsarerelevantforbotharti®cialsocieties(Carley&ofthenetworkstructureinasocialnetworkofartificialorGasser1999;Epstein&Axtell1996)andmulti-agentsys-simulatedagentshasasignificanteffectontheperformancetems(Huhns&Stephens1999;Lesser1999).oftheovera
5、llsystem.Weconcludethatfinding“good”net-workstructuresforaparticularapplicationdomainiscriticalBackgroundtomodelingartificialsocialsystemsandimplementingmulti-agentsystems.WearguethattechniquesforadaptingnetworkSocialnetworks,whichhaveattractedtheattentionofsci-structurewillbecriticali
6、nlarge-scaleagentcommunities.entistsformanydecades,aremodeledandanalyzedwiththetoolsofgraphtheory.ThreeofthemostprominentlyIntroductionobservedpropertiesofreal-worldgraphsareshortaveragepathlengths,excessclustering,andskeweddegreedistri-Inrecentyears,theimportanceandubiquitousnessofn
