5、esocialandeconomicimpactofStateOldAgePensions(SOAP),DisabilityGrants(DG),ChildSupportGrants(CSG),CareDependencyGrants(CDG),FosterCareGrants(FCG)andGrants-in-Aid(GIA).Theanalysisevaluatestheroleofsocialassistanceinreducingpovertyandpromotinghouseholddevelopment,examiningeffectsonh
6、ealth,education,housingandvitalservices.Inaddition,thestudyassessestheimpactofsocialgrantsonlabourmarketparticipationandlabourproductivity,providingananalysisofboththesupplyanddemandsidesofthelabourmarket.Thestudyalsoquantifiesthemacro-economicimpactofsocialassistancegrants,evalu
7、atingtheirimpactonsavings,consumptionandthecompositionofaggregatedemand.MostofthestatisticalanalysisfocusesontheCSG,SOAPandDGsincesamplesizesaresufficientlylargeforthesegrantstosupportsignificantinferences.SouthAfrica’ssystemofsocialsecuritysuccessfullyreducespoverty,regardlessof
