2、purposeistoobtainmoreaccurateandmorecomprehensivedescriptionoftheimagefromthesamescene,throughextractingandsynthesisingtheinformationfrommultisourceimage.Theimagefusiontechnologyhasbeenwidelyusedinmilitaryequipment,climatologicalobservation,geographicalexplorati

3、onandcropsurvey,etc.Firstlythebackgroundofresearchingthetechnologyofimagefusion,andthetrendsofresearchingathomeandabroadareintroduced,nowscientificresearchpersonsresearchalotaboutthebasicconcepts,levelsandapplicationoftheimageinformationfusion.Imagefusionalgorit

4、hmbasedonwavelettransformisintroduced,wavelettransformhasmanyadvantagesonimagefusion.However,thisadvantagecannotbeappliedintwodimensionalapplicationsbecauseofitscharactersindealingwithmulti-dimensionalimages.Secondly,multiresolutiondecompositionareintroduced,the

5、principleofContourlettransformisdescribedinparticular,whichhasmulti-resolutionanddirectionaladvantages.andtheContourlettransformisbetterthanthewavelettransformbythecomparingexperimentsonidealimages.ThenonsubsampledContourlettransformisintroduced.Thistransformati

6、onhascharacteristicsofmulti-resolution,directionalityandanisotropic.ThispaperfusesVisibleandinfraredimagebasedonpixellevel.AndobtainscombinationofinformationfeatureofmultispectralimageofthesamescenefromtheCCDsensorandinfrareddetector,anddescriptesscenerymoreclea

7、rlyandmorecomprehensive,withtheircomplementaritiesofinformationand.ThispaperexperimentswithvisibleandinfraredimagebyContourlettransform,lowfrequencysub-bandandhighfrequencysub-bandusedifferentfusionrules.Fusionalgorithmbasedontheimprovedmorphologicalgradientoper
