1、8DELTAWORKFORCEINVESTMENTAREAYOUTHPOLICYINCENTIVESI.INTRODUCTIONThispolicysetsforthcontractorguidelinesfortheuseofincentivestoyouthenrolledintheWorkforceInvestmentActprograms.InaccordancewithSection129(a)(5)oftheWorkforceInvestmentAct,fundsforyouthactivitiesmaybeusedt
2、oprovideincentivesforrecognitionandachievementtoeligibleyouth.Foryears,manyemploymentandtrainingyouthpractitionersfoundthatmotivatingyouthtoattendclassandremainintheprogramwasthemostdifficultaspectoftheprogram.Therefore,practitionersrecognizedthevalueofprovidingincent
3、ivestoat-riskyouthasarewardforperformance.Itisimportantforyouthtohavetheireffortsacknowledgedandtohavesometangibleevidenceofsuccess.Financialincentivesaswellasotherformsofrecognitionprovideanimportantformofreinforcementforatriskyouth.II.INCENTIVESPECIFICATIONSTobeallo
4、wable,incentivesawardedtoyouthwilladheretothespecificationsoutlinedinthispolicy.TheyouthparticipantwillmeettheincentivecriteriaspecifiedinSectionIIIofthispolicy.Incentivesthatmaybeawardedthroughtheprovisionsofthispolicyincludefinancialandrecognitionawards.Adescription
5、ofeachincentiveisincludedinSectionIII.A.Thecontractorwillprovideincentivesonlytothoseyouthwho:(1)areeligibleforandregisteredintheyouthprogram;and(2)meettheincentivecriteria.Revised06/088III.REQUIREMENTSA.DESCRIPTIONOFINCENTIVES1.VendorClothingVoucherThisawardwillbedir
6、ectlylinkedtoworkreadinessactivities.Thecontractormayawardavendorclothingvouchertoaneligibleyouthparticipantwhohasmasteredallworkreadinessskills,exhibitedexcellentperformanceinworkexperienceactivities,maintainedpunctualandregularattendance,andhasthreedocumentedappoint
7、mentsforjobinterviews.Sinceitisexpectedthatyoutharepreparedtoengageinjobsearchactivities,thevouchermaybeusedonlytowardthepurchaseofbusinessclothingthatisappropriateforjobinterviews.Formaleyouth,suchitemsmayincludecasualbusinessslacks,ablazer,dressshirt,necktieandshoes
