1、FoundationLearning:FundingProgression1.ContextFoundationLearningprogrammesarebeingestablishedforstudentsatKeyStage4and,whereappropriate,forthosewhoneedtocontinuethispathwaypost-16.Theseprogrammeslargelyfocusontheachievementoffunctionalskills,personalandsocialdevelopmentandvocationalqualifications
2、atentrylevelandlevel1.However,duetothe‘spiky’profileofthestudentsinvolved,FoundationLearningdoesnotprohibitindividualsachievingsomequalifications,includingGCSEs,atlevel2.WhenconstructingFoundationLearningprogrammesprovidersneedtoconsiderthefollowing:§Howhasinitialassessmentbeenusedtodesignaperson
3、alisedprogrammethatmeetstheeducationalneedsandfuturegoalsofthelearner?§Howwilltheachievementofthequalificationsthathavebeenselectedsecureprogressiontonextstepsinlearningoremployment?Itisessentialthatcentresworktogethertogainaclearunderstandingofprogressionfrompre-16topost-16forlearnersonFoundatio
4、nLearningprogrammesinorderthattheycanplancoherentprogrammesthatmeettheneedsofthestudentsandthataddresstheYPLA’sdemand-ledfundingmethodology.SecuringasharedunderstandingofprogressionisvitalforlearnerscurrentlyonFoundationLearningprogrammesaswellasforthosewho,by2015,willbeexpectedtoparticipateinlea
5、rninguptotheageof18.2.FundingFoundationLearningProvisionPost-16Curriculumplanningforprogressionwillhaveatitscoretheneedsofthelearners.Atthesametimeproviderswillneedtobeawareofandmakebestuseofthefundingthatisavailabletodeliverthatoffer.TheYPLAhasissuedthefollowingupdatedfundingguidanceforFoundatio
