3、viewdataandresultsofJARPN.JARPNIIstartedwithtwofeasibilitysurveysin2000and2001.Thefirstfullsurveystartedin2002.TheobjectivesoftheJARPNIIarethefollowing:a)feedingecologyandecosystemstudies(preyconsumptionbycetaceans,preypreferenceofcetaceans,ecosystemmodeling);b)monitoringenvironmenta
4、lpollutantincetaceansandthemarineecosystem(patternofaccumulationofpollutantsincetaceans,bioaccumulationprocessofpollutantsthroughthefoodchain,relationshipsbetweenchemicalpollutantsandcetaceanhealth),andc)stockstructureoflargewhales(commonminkewhale,Bryde’swhale,seiwhaleandspermwhale)
5、.TheIWC/SCiscurrentlyplanningareviewofthedataandresultscollectedbyJARPNIIinitssixfirstyears(2002-2007).ScientificcontributionofJARPN/JARPNIIScientificcontributionofJARPN/JARPNIIhasbeenmadeavailableindifferentforms,asscientificdocumentsfortheIWC/SCmeetings,aspublicationsinpeerreviewed
6、journals,andasoralpresentationsatscientificsymposiums.Table1showsthenumberofIWC/SCdocuments,peer-reviewedpublicationsandoralpresentationsatscientificsymposiumbasedonJARPN/JARPNIIsample/data,byyear.IWC/SCdocumentsIntheperiod1994-2008atotalof127documentswerepresentedtoannualandinterses
