3、ulesofMoralswhichhehasdeducedfromthisMethod;inthefourth,thereasoningsbywhichheestablishestheexistenceofGodandoftheHumanSoul,whicharethefoundationsofhisMetaphysic;inthefifth,theorderofthePhysicalquestionswhichhehasinvestigated,and,inparticular,theexpl
4、icationofthemotionoftheheartandofsomeotherdifficultiespertainingtoMedicine,asalsothedifferencebetweenthesoulofmanandthatofthebrutes;and,inthelast,whattheAuthorbelievestoberequiredinordertogreateradvancementintheinvestigationofNaturethanhasyetbeenmade
5、,withthereasonsthathaveinducedhimtowrite.PART1Goodsenseis,ofallthingsamongmen,themostequallydistributed;foreveryonethinkshimselfsoabundantlyprovidedwithit,thatthoseevenwhoarethemostdifficulttosatisfyineverythingelse,donotusuallydesirealargermeasureof
6、thisqualitythantheyalreadypossess.Andinthisitisnotlikelythatallaremistakentheconvictionisrathertobeheldastestifyingthatthepowerofjudgingarightandofdistinguishingtruthfromerror,whichisproperlywhatiscalledgoodsenseorreason,isbynatureequalinallmen;andth
7、atthediversityofouropinions,consequently,doesnotarisefromsomebeingendowedwithalargershareofreasonthanothers,butsolelyfromthis,thatweconductourthoughtsalongdifferentways,anddonotfixourattentiononthesameobjects.Fortobepossessedofavigorousmindisnotenoug
