1、外文翻译…GIS在中国的发展前景PerspectivesonGISDevelopmentinChinaResearchesandapplicationsofGeographicInformationSystems(GIS)inChinastartedintheearly1980s.Tntheearlyperiod,thedevelopmentofGTSwasmainlydependedontheprogressandapplicationsofremotesensing,aerialphotography,aswellascomputeraideddesign(CAD).
2、Tnrecentyears,withthedevelopmentofGPSandTnternettechnology,GTShasbeingdevelopedvigorouslyinthecountry.Lookingaheadtothe21stcentury,aneweraof"DigitalEarth〃and"Cyberspace"iscoming,whichwillprovideagreatopportunityaswellasachai1engetotheChina'八'sGTScircles.1.ProgressPaceofGISResearchesofGISi
3、nChinacandatebacktotheearly1980.Atthattime,aremotesensingapplicationprojectwasbeingcarriedoninSouthwestChinaandusingGISmethodintegratedwithremotesensingdatatosolvetheareameasurementautomaticallywasinitiated.AfterthefirstsuccessfultestofGTS,aproposaltostartGTSresearchwasproposedintheChines
4、eAcademyofSciences(CAS)•SincethenagreatsuccesshasbeenachievedbothinresearchandapplicationofGTSinChina.Whi1etshistoryorprogresspacecanbedividedintofourperiods.From1981-1985,itistheinitialperiodofGISinChina.Duringthisperiod,GISwasmainlykeepinresearchandexperimentalstage,anumberofscientists
5、inCASandsomehighlearninginstitutesstartedtofollowthetracksofGISdevelopmentinworld.WiththesupportoftheStateScienceandTechnologyCommission(SSTC)andCAS,anumberofresearchprojectswereinitiatodandconducted,leadingtobuildupsometypicalcaseinformationsystems.Inthisperiodfivesystematicalandexperime
6、ntalresearcheshadbeenconducted・Thosearegeo-datacapturemethods,regionalinformationsystemmodeling,nationalbasicgeographicdatabasesbuilding,developmentofgeo-analysissoftwareandnationalgeographicdatastandardsandspecifications・Whilethemostinfluentialoneofthoseresearcheswastheformulationofadraf
7、tGIStechnologyspecification,inwhichover50scientistsandspecialistshadbeeninvolved.ThefirstStateKeyLaboratoryofGISwassetupintheInstituteofGeography,CAS,providinganopenandnewtyperesearchlaboratoryspecializedinGISinthecountry.Also,alargenumberofGISpersonnelhadgottrained
