3、eticalanalysesandexperimentalresultspresentedinthispapershowthat,comparedtocommonly-usedwaveletthresholddenoisingmethods,theproposedalgorithmcouldnotonlykeepedgeinformationofanimage,butalsocouldimprovesignal-to-noiseratioofthedenoisedimage.Inthewaveletdomain,the
4、denoisingalgorithmbasedonthethresholdfilteriswidelyused,becauseit’scomparativelyefficientandeasytorealize.Wecanselectathresholdaccordingtothecharacteristicoftheimage,modifyingallofthediscretedetailcoefficientssoastoreducethenoise.However,weareinthedilemmaofdeter
5、miningthelevelofthethreshold.Thehigherthethresholdis,thebettereffectofdenoisingwillbe,and,atthesametime,theblurriertheedgewillbe.Theedgesofanimagemostlyreflecttheinformationoftheimage,andcontainitsbasiccharacter.Accordingtoresearchonhumaneyes,thecharacteristicof
6、theedgesisoneofseveralcharacteristicsthatcanstronglyimpressthevisualsystem.Thus,whenweprocessdenoising,thefirstthingthatweshouldcareaboutistryingtoretainedgeinformation.Thispaperpresentsanewmethodforimagedenoisingwhilekeepingedgeinformation.Wefirstapplywavelettr
7、ansformtoanoisedimage,andthenprocessedgedetection.Thewaveletcoefficientsaredividedintotwoparts:edgepartandsmoothpart.Wecanthereforesethighdenoisingthresholdtothesmoothpartandlowdenoisingthresholdtoedgepartinordertoretainmoreedgeinformation.Thetheoreticanalysisan
