3、gofthesecondpart.Mathematicaltopicsincludeasummaryofthemethodsofvectorandtensoranalysisingeneralizedcoordinates;anaccessiblepresentationofthemethodofcovariantdifferentiation;andabriefintroductiontononlineardynamics.Thesemathematicaltoolsareusedlaterinthebooktotacklesuchproblems

4、asthefieldsofmotionoverdifferenttypesofterrain,andproblemsofpredictability.Thesecondpartofthebookbeginswiththederivationoftheequationdescrib-ingtheatmosphericmotionontherotatingearth,followedbyseveralchaptersthatconsiderthekinematicsoftheatmosphereandintroducevorticityandcircula
