3、free,non-selective,multi-denominationalandco-educational.Itisinthespiritofthatcommitmentthatweadvancethefollowingpolicyonschooldisciplinethemaintenanceofwhichfacilitatesteachingandlearningofthehigheststandard.Thispolicycentresontheestablishmentandimplementatio

4、nofagreedandeffectivedisciplinarystructuresinschoolsintheinterestsofthecollectivewell-beingofthewholeschoolcommunity.Weemphasisetherightsofthestudentwhowishestolearnandthedutyandresponsibilityofschoolmanagementtoprovideanenvironmentsupportiveoflearning,toallow

5、eachpupilreachhis/herpotential.Theindisciplineofaminorityofstudentsinterfereswiththerightsofthemajoritytoachieveitspotential.Schoolmanagementmustthereforetakeappropriateactiontosafeguardtherightsofthemajority,whilerespectingtherightsoftheindividual.Oneofthecen

6、traltenetsofourpolicyisthatallthepartnersintheschoolcommunity–students,parents,teachersandmanagement–shouldactivelycollaborateandreachaconsensusonschoolpolicyondiscipline,basedontheirsharedvalues,aspirationsandexpectations.Oncepolicyisformulatedandagreed,thepa

7、rtnersthencommittoitsimplementation.Asinallpolicymatters,periodicreview,reappraisalandupdatingshouldtakeplace.TUIassertsthatschoolsshouldprovideequalityofaccesstoopportunityforallstudents,butholdsthatnoindividualstudent(orgroupofstudents)hastherighttodepriveot
