4、7)andwhileexaminingnominationstotheListofIntangibleCulturalHeritageinNeedofUrgentSafeguarding(DocumentITH/12/7.COM/8),theCommitteediscussedtherelationsamongsafeguarding,commercializationandsustainabledevelopment.Indeed,thatcomplexrelationshiphasbeendiscussedatvirtuallyeverysession

5、oftheCommittee,inoneaspectoranother.1.TheConsultativeBodyinitsreportsemphasizedtheimportanceofintangibleculturalheritageforsustainabledevelopmentandwelcomednominationsorrequestsinwhichincomegeneration,remunerationtotradition-bearersorexpansionofaudiencesaimedatcontributingdirectly

6、toensuringtheviabilityoftheintangibleculturalheritageinquestion,butitregrettedthattheobjectiveofsafeguardingseemedsometimetobesecondary.Itcitedalsothereportofthe2011SubsidiaryBody,‘The[…]Bodyalsoconsideredthatsafeguardingmeasuresshouldaddressexcessivecommercializationthatmaybedetr
