4、.ThereisaplethoraoftextualmaterialsandlisteningtapesforlearningspokenEnglish.However,manyofthemareaimedattheearlylearnerandarenotsuitableforuniversitystudents,andmostimportantlytheydonotprovideusefulexercisesforpracticingoralEnglish.Asassociatedlisteningtapesoftenco

5、ntaindialoguethatistoofastforstudentstofollowandvocabularythatisinappropriate.Becauseoftheseshortcomingsintheteachingmaterialandtheeducationalsystem,Chinesestudentsdonotreceiveaconsistentandwell-developedprogramoforalEnglishtraining.Thereisapressingneedtoimproveoral

6、EnglishprogramsaroundChinaandtoestablishastandardteachinmethodiclogy,textualmaterialsandassessmentproceduresthatwillprovideallstudentswiththeopportunitytosignificantlyimprovetheirlevelofspokenEnglishandtoproperlymeasurethatimprovement.2THENATUREOFTHEPROBLEMSForthepa
