2、blemsasfollowing:I.ApproximatepronunciationconfusionIt’saverycommonmistakeinpronouncingvowels.Somestudentsconsideredthatthelong-vowelsandshortvowelsarethesamephoneme,buttheissuingofasoundlongerandtheotherisshorter.Thisunderstandingiswrong.Forexample,whenwepronounce/u/and/
3、u:/,/u/isashortvowel,while/u:/isalongvowel,theyaretwodifferentphonemes.Eachphonemehasitsownphoneticfeatures,despitethesimilarsounding.Aphonemeisthesmallestunitinsound,achangeinwhichwillresultachangeinmeaning.Suchasifthephonetic/hit/in/i/substitute/i:/becomes/hi:t/,thenthe
4、reisachangeofmeaninginthesetwowords.Onlywegraspthefront-backpositionandhigh-lowpositionofthevowelsaccurately,canwedistinguishthevowelsoundsexactly.II.AddedanextrasoundarbitrarilyChinesewordsaremonosyllabic,andthevastmajorityendingwithvowels.ThisisboundtoeffectonEnglish.So

III.IgnoringincompleteplosionWhenaplosiveconsonantisimmediatelyfollowed
