2、nbrandingdidnotemergeuntilhalfacenturylater.Areviewof74destinationbrandingpublicationsby102authorsfromthefirst10yearsofdestinationbrandingliterature(1998-2007)foundatleastninepotentialresearchgapswarrantingattentionbyresearchers.Inparticular,therehasbeenalackofresearchexami
3、ningtheextenttowhichbrandpositioningcampaignshavebeensuccessfulinenhancingbrandequityinthemannerintendedinthebrandidentity.ThepurposeofthispaperistoreporttheresultsofaninvestigationofbrandequitytrackingforacompetitivesetofdestinationsinQueensland,Australiabetween2003and2007
4、.Ahierarchyofconsumer-basedbrandequity(CBBE)providedaneffectivemeanstomonitordestinationbrandpositionsovertime.Akeyimplicationoftheresultswasthefindingthattherewasnochangeinbrandpositionsforanyofthefivedestinationsoverthefouryearperiod.Thisleadstothepropositionthatdestinati
