2、nAmericanNationalStandardrequiresverificationNationalbyANSIthattherequirementsfordueprocess,consensus,andothercriteriaforapprovalhavebeenmetbythestandardsStandarddeveloper.AnAmericanNationalStandardimpliesaconsensusofthosesubstantiallyconcernedwithitsscopeandprovisions.Consensus
3、isestablishedwhen,inthejudgmentoftheANSIBoardofStandardsReview,substantialagreementhasbeenreachedbydirectlyandmateriallyaffectedinterests.Substantialagreementmeansmuchmorethanasimplemajority,butnotnecessarilyunanimity.Consensusrequiresthatallviewsandobjectionsbeconsidered,andtha
4、taconcertedeffortbemadetowardtheirresolution.TheexistenceofanAmericanNationalStandarddoesnotinanyrespectprecludeanyone,whethers/hehasapprovedthestandardornot,frommanufacturing,marketing,purchasing,orusingproducts,processes,orproceduresnotconformingtothestandards.Itisintendedasag
5、uidetoaidthemanufacturer,theconsumer,andthegeneralpublic.TheAmericanNationalStandardsInstitutedoesnotdevelopstandardsandwillinnocircumstancesgiveaninterpretationofanyAmericanNationalStandard.Moreover,nopersonshallhavetherightorauthoritytoissueaninterpretationofanAmericanNational
