2、optimizationmethodsareoftennecessarytoachievetheoptimumoperatingconditions.Thisstudyproposesanewconstrainedoptimizationprocedureusingartificialneuralnetworksasmodelsfortargetprocesses.Informationanalysisbasedonrandomsearch,fuzzyc-meanclustering,andminimizationofinformationfreeenergyisperform
3、editerativelyintheproceduretosuggestthelocationoffutureexperiments,whichcangreatlyreducethenumberofexperimentsneeded.Theeffectivenessoftheproposedprocedureinsearchingoptimaisdemonstratedbythreecasestudies:(1)abench-markproblem,namelyminimizationofthemodifiedHimmelblaufunctionunderacirclecons
4、traint;(2)bothminimizationofNOxandCOemissionsandmaximizationofthermalefficiencyforasimulatedcombustionprocessofaboiler;(3)maximizationofthermalefficiencywithinNOxandCOemissionlimitsforthesamecombustionprocess.ThesimulatedcombustionprocessisbasedonacommercialsoftwarepackageCHEMKIN,where78chem
5、icalspeciesand467chemicalreactionsrelatedtothecombustionmechanismareincorporatedandaplug-flowmodelandaload-correlatedtemperaturedistributionforthecombustiontunnelofaboilerareused.1.IntroductionAlthoughtherehavebeenalotofexperimentalandtheoreticalstudiesonthebasicphysicalandchemicalprinciples
