3、ggravatedthecontradictionofwaterresourceshortage,butalsoaseriousthreattourbanresidentsdrinkingwatersafetyandhealth.Forourlifesourcebeingpolluted,howshouldwerespond?LThewaterresourcesandpollutionsituationinourcountryLIWaterresourcessituationinourcountryFromThefirs

5、aof7.8squarekilometers.Thecountryhasabout98000reservoirs,withatotalcapacityof98000cubicmeters.Thenationaltotalof638900lakeswaterinlet,theearth’ssurfaceandundergroundwatersourceisrespectively1.17and1847.China’spercapitawaterresourcesisonly2100cubicmeters,only28%of
6、theworld’spercapita.Inthenorthernregion,waterresourceisveryshortage,theYellowRiver,huaiheriver,haiheriverthreepercapitawaterresourcesquantityrespectivelyforthenationalaverageofonly30.1%,21.6%and12.9%.China’spercapitafreshwaterresourcesisonlyaquarteroftheworld'sav
7、erage,ranked110intheworld,isoneofthepoorestcountriesintheworldpercapitawaterresources.Availablewaterresourcespercapitaisonly900cubicmeters,andunevenlydistributed.Theendofthe20thcentury,thepresenceofmorethan400citiesinmorethan600citieshaswatersupplyshortageproblem
