2、mail.comABSTRACTSafetystudyofdrivingbehaviorstoreducetrafficaccidentsisofgreatsignificance.Theprimaryobjectivesofthestudyweretoinvestigatetherelationbetweendriverovertakingbehaviorsandtrafficsafety.Twelvedriversofdifferentproficiencywereselectedforanexperimentonadrivingsim

3、ulationsystemplatform.Asimulationsceneofovertakingonatwo-lanehighwaywassetup.Thesubjectsovertookinthevirtualscenariosatdifferentspeeds.Atotaloftwelveparameters-includingspeed,acceleration,timeofovertakingprocess,thechangesofdistanceandotherparameters-wereextractedduringthe

4、experiments.ThesedatatogetherwiththeresultsofaDBQ(DrivingBehaviorQuestionnaire)wereanalyzedandevaluatedbythemultiplelinearregressionmethod.Theresultsshowedthatthreemotionparametershadastrongcorrelationwithdrivers'safety.Finally,thestudypresentsalinearmodelofsafetyassessmen

5、tofdriverovertakingbehaviorontwo-lanehighways.Themodelmayhelptoidentifysafeandunsafedriversandreducethenumberoftrafficaccidents.INTRODUCTIONTwo-laneruralroadsmakeupthemajorityoftheroadnetworkinmanycountries.In2009,China’sruralmileagereached3.2millionkm,andhighwaymileageofr

7、waysisacommonphenomenon.Whendrivershavepotentialtoovertakeandthereissufficientspacetoovertakeontheroad,overtakingdemandswillbecreated.Intheprocessofovertaking,thedriverdetermineswhetherthereissufficientandadequatepassingsightdistanceandtimeheadwayoftheopposinglaneandwhethe
