5、neseandEnglishdeictics.Sincethereislessdifficultyintranslatingpersonalpronounsandnames,whichsomelinguistsattributetosocialdeixis,theyarenotincludedinthesocialdeicticwordsandexpressionswhichthisdisertationisdevotedto.Languageisthemediumofculture.DifferencesbetweenEngl

6、ishandChineseculturesmanifestthemselvesintheEnglishandChineselanguages.Socialdeicticsareoneofthedifferencesreflectedinthetwolanguages.34WesternersliketheBritishandAmericanpeopleattachgreatimportancetoindividualism,whichcontributeslargelytothenon-typicalnessofEnglishs
